About our uniform

We believe that wearing a school uniform promotes a sense of pride, belonging, and equality among our students. Our uniform policy ensures that all pupils are dressed appropriately for learning, representing our school community with respect and professionalism.

Our uniform

Our uniform provider is Anglia Sports and Schoolwear. The following items must be purchased from our provider:

  • Blazer
  • Tie (these can be purchased in school)
  • Skirt
  • Short or long sleeved white shirt with collar
  • Black trousers
  • Plain black socks long enough to cover the ankle
  • Knee length socks when wearing skirts
  • Plain black tights when wearing skirts
  • Black shoes

The school jumper is optional or a V neck black jumper can be worn instead.

PE kit

The following compulsory PE kit must be purchased from our supplier:

  • Indoor T-Shirt: Black school polo shirt with amber trim
  • Outdoor Sweatshirt: Black and amber PE sweatshirt
  • Socks: Black Academy knee length socks with amber trim
  • Leggings: Black legging with school logo the leg. These are the only leggings permitted

The following items can be purchased elsewhere but they must meet the school Uniform Policy:

  • Shorts: Plain black shorts (no logos)
  • Tracksuit bottoms: Plain black tracksuit bottoms (no logos)
  • Footwear: Trainers, Football boots. All footwear should be kept clean, particularly when used indoors. Training shoes should be worn rather than fashion trainers.
  • Shin-pads and gum shields: Strongly recommended for use playing football, hockey and rugby.

General expectations

Make-up must be discrete (heavy make-up must be removed)

Nails:   Students in Year 7 - 9 are only permitted to wear clear nail polish. No other painted or false nails are allowed. Students in Year 10 & 11 must have fingernails of an acceptable length and colour, appropriate for practical lessons and PE.

ACCESSORIES

The following are acceptable:

  • Hair bobble
  • A headband can be worn provided it is black
  • Hair Clips

The following are not permitted:

  • Bandanas – this includes wearing them as a hairband
  • Badges (other than badges issued by the academy and charity badges)
  • Caps or hats
  • Visible tattoos

JEWELLERY

The following are acceptable:

  • One plain pair of small silver or gold ear studs.
  • One watch
  • One ring on either hand

The following are not permitted:

  • Facial piercings
  • Jewellery – (including rings, bracelets, bangles)
  • Sleepers, stretchers or spike earrings
  • Coloured earrings or earrings with stones/jewels
Equipment

To support learning, students are expected to bring essential equipment such as pens, pencils, a ruler, a scientific calculator and a reading book. Some subjects may require additional items, which will be communicated by the school.
